On Monday and Tuesday we are reponding to the information in chapters 6 through 16. If you are absent, the questions are below.
Stuck in Neutral Final Assessment review questions for chapters 6 through 16. As you were to have finished the novel, this should be review. You may use the text. Please respond in complete sentences; otherwise a correct response is only worth half credit. Take your time and write the responses in your notebooks.
Chapter 6
1. Summarize what happens when Shawn has a seizure.

2. Describe the chaotic atmosphere of the Special Education Program at Shoreline.

3. Describe the conflicting emotions that Shawn’s mother has over her husband leaving.

5. Describe Paul and Cindy’s reaction to their mother’s news about their father’s new project and the Alice Pond’s show. (Make sure to describe the project first.0
Chapter 11.
6. Make sure to carefully reread the interview with Earl Detraux. Then explain how Alice Pond’s perspective differs from that of Sydney McDaniel’s.
Chapter 12.
7. In your own words, describe the scene when Paul defends Shawn against the two fifteen-year-old boys who were mocking him.
Chapter 13.
8. What does Shawn remember experiencing when he was eight and rode with his father on the virtual reality attraction at the Seattle Science Center?
Chapter 14
9. Shawn visits his father in his seizure travels. How does Sydney McDaniel refer to his son? Why do you think his father speaks in such a way to him?
Chapter 15 / 16
10. Finish the story. Reread chapter 16 to establish the tone. Use vibrant adjectives and active verbs. Write more than action. Pause and reflect on the emotions running through both the father’s and Shawn’s minds.
